So yeah. Rough quick sketches of my Chronicles character......

....'s three main outfits. Meh, I can't decide on his face besides that he has a beard, but for at least 2/3rds of the below I have in mind perfectly. From left to right, it's his normal attire, his dress uniform, and finally full on armor. Spoiler tagged because with the big monitor I sometimes forget when it might stretch out the boards for others.

Spoiler

All right, some points.

For the normal attire, I wanted it to look like it used to be a uniform of some kind, to show that the guy's definitely had experience, which is amde more obvious by all the little additions and modifications to it, like the additional armor, the kinda odd mixed and match look of the top to the bottom, and all that. Definitely a lot of years to the guy, but in a good way to show experience and survival.

Dress uniform has a goof - the half capelet and shoulderpad should be flipped since he's right handed. Anyway, I did want it to come across way too ridiculously overdesigned, thus the random little trenchcoat bottom despite not having a top to go with it, and story-wise it's completely and utterly different from the other Koridai armed forces uniforms. About the only thing that shows that he's even part of the same army would be the Koridai seal, which is not present because we haven't figured out how that looks yet - it would be on the little clasp holding the cape together though.

The fulla rmor I'm not totally happy with - well, it's msotly the helmet and how he looks below his torso. His chest, upper body and limb armor I'm glad for, but I couldn't quite get what I envisioned for his head and lower body, though this works for now. It's supposed to look completely out of place for the time period despite it being just armor - albeit one that behaves rather strangely compared to the other top notch armor in the world. No technology or magic, just the building method is what's odd about it. He's ahd no reason to wear this one yet even in the backstory, so I'll probably redesign the helmet befroe he does don it.

I also included his sword, the Holy Arpeggio Sword, for detail, though it is inf act to scale with the outfits. It's a two handed sword, but he uses it like a single handed blade. As the name implies, yes, it's "Holy" (as far as anyone knows....) but it's emphatically nto a gift from Her Holiness Lady Chikara. Where'd he get it from? Hmm.... The name, btw, is a lame reference to the "Holy RPG Sword" I smacked people with a long time ago when modding the RPG's. The "Bludgeoning Stick" I might actually be able to work in as well, since I pictured him using a staff as a secondary weapon, ala Hilde in Soul Calibur IV.

Finally, no, I don't know my obsession with sticking little half skirt/cape deals to the uniforms. :prime:

Somehow I imagined him chunkier, with a name that long.

Really, really like the dress uniform.

The Optimus Prime helmet is win.

That is all.

Huh. To be honest, that's not what I was going for when I drew the helmet, but that worked out. :prime:

And eh, I figured that an overly long name would fit in with the character trying to hide, especially since his prior identity essentially had no name.

On second glance it actually looks more like the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam, but I think it would probably be funnier if you made it look like Optimus Prime. Just sayin':P

It is very robot/mech, regardless, you have to admit. ;d

Good work, DJ. I'm enjoying the detail; it looks regal but also intimidating. Chikky would feel honored to have you in her command!

I was like "SWEET, A ROBOT!" when I first saw it.

I like the dress uniform and normal attire's similarity and style. Very Fire Emblemish.

Hmm.... I really gotta hurry up and establish my character in this crazy world.

Hmm. Few things. Just to be odd, I'll go right to left.

1. Optimus Prime: COOL.

It feels a touch out of character for a mecha character to wield a medieval sword. Something with flare something like...This.

An epicly big glow-in-the-dark gunblade in the hands of Optimus Prime? Think about it. How can you POSSIBLY go wrong?! If you don't go for that, I so have dibs on it.

2. Dress Uniform: Sweet...kinda reminds me of Colonel Mustang.

Again, I feel like the sword is the weak link. Swap out the Medieval sword with a cutlass or a rapier. Oh, and the half-cloak? It can be used as a shield...kind of.

3. Kinda reminds me of my best friend with the pseudo-apocalypse-punk decals on the right arm and the Kyle Katarn shoulder-guard. The medieval sword fits perfectly with him. I think he could use a boot-knife, though.
