Well that's brown gravy... but the stuff on those biscuits was nice white southern gravy, which is just as much gravy as brown gravy in a boat. ;d

Drinking gravy by itself is weird. XD

We have brown gravy too but the white breakfasty variety is also good.

But gravy is cornstarch based and anything tomato based is marinara sauce to me.

That may be the truth of what it is, but that doesn't change the reality of the fact that the Italian folk (at least in the Philly area) call it gravy...
