Minish Cap rom has ascii text and so can be very easily text dumped. Yay!

Other games that can be easily dumped, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet:
- The Wind Waker
- Four Swords GBA (not including ALttP GBA)

Four Swords Adventures for GC will require a quote faq. Somebody was making one but he seems to have disappeared. So I'll have to make one from scratch.

I have secretly been working on a new Ocarina of Time quote faq based on the html text dump. I'll finish it someday.

That's loverly. It would GREATLY help my OoT story I'm currently working on, and the world NEEDS a WW text dump, so, feel free!

you had a pre-emptive WW text dump, didnt you? i used it to write encyclopedia lexicons?

That was VERY pre-emptive. Actually, TWW's text is already formatted in standard ascii to a very great extent. It's almost perfectly legible simply by looking at the raw rom code.

Wow, and of course there are ascii translators... please post a sticky (pinned) thread when you get them up, I'd love to rummage through a MC text dump (perhaps see if the third oracle's house is possible to get).

How do you make text dumps from WW, FSA, FS, TMC. If someone could tell me how its done, I may be able to help out with it...

What I do is find the text in the rom and then write a php script to parse it and generate more readable formatted text or html. It's just a matter of me not being lazy and finding some time to do it.

I've already made a Minish Cap text dump, but I'm not going to publicly release it at least until Minish Cap is out in the U.S. If you want it badly, I guess you could PM me.

I've finished Minish Cap so I should very much like that, but I am most interested in Four Swords Adventures. We in the UK have to wait till January for it, and I am very confused about it, so would appreciate a text dump so I can try get my head around the Zelda Series. Everything seems to have been turned inside out, and it is annoying me...

One guy, named GORE-illa I believe, was compiling a text dump, and had finished up to Level 5 or so. I wonder what happened to him...

I've found it impossible to make a text dump of FSA. GORE-illa was making a quote faq, and he said he was 80% complete, but then he disappeared off the face of the earth.
