Holy crap,I've had an interesting morning. I got woken up about 6 AM to somebody (turned out to be my neighbor, Lacy) pounding one more door saying "Get out, get out, get out!" My other neighbor's (Michelle) cottage was on fire, and her place is less than 3 feet away from mine! She's okay, her dog is okay, and we don't know about the cats. She's over at her friends house right now, since her place is just burnt. The cottage is still standing, but everything inside is burned. We were probably outside for a good hour, maybe hour and a half. I have to say, I've never been that close to a fire in my entire life, and it was scary to watch, but kind cool to watch at the same time.

I still haven't seen them, and I'll be surprised if I can get one to come to me, she's extremely skittish.

Aww wow that's terribly scary :(. Poor girl! It's bad enough to lose your house.. then add pet cats on top of it. I really hope they're okay and that she'll be okay!

Yeah, there'll be more luck with the firemen. They're used to them.

Hope that she an the kitties are okay, and that insurance can pay for what she's lost. Also hope your place doesn't have any smoke damage!

That's terrible! Well... good that everyone's unharmed, but terrible to lose everything inside her living space. I hope it's all stuff that's replaceable, and I hope her kitties are okay. Damn.. what caused the fire? Did they know?

She's fine, my place had no smoke damage (thank goodness), and we still don't know where the kitties are.

We don't know what caused the fire, although I'm thinking either an electrical problem or arson. She does smoke, but she went to bed about 11, and the rain was pounding all night, so that would have canceled out the cigarette butt.
