As I said earlier.
Link is never shown falling in love with any of the female characters or really anyone. Zelda kissed Link at the end of Zelda II, but that was it; and that was behind the curtains. So, I don't see how anyone could come to the conclusion that he was even ever interested in romance at all. Twilight Princess: We could assume he was in love with Ilia, but they never show that or make it clear that he was attracted to her.

OK, well back on topic then; since the evidence of leitmotifs, the assumption that if Link had gone to the forest to find Navi and didn't so went to the Lost Woods were brought up, and the thing about making new friends along the way (even though he already knew the Skull Kid and knew the Skull Kid thought of Link as a friend); then I suppose I am quite convinced now that it was Navi that he was looking for in Majora's Mask and that he never returned to Hyrule searching for her. Well, it could be a 'leave it to your imagination' thing where maybe he does find her, maybe he doesn't.
