After I beat the Water Temple, does the place unfreeze? Or does it stay frozen forever?

Until the credits, so... forever. I guess the designers were too lazy to think of an alternate way to the Ice Cavern.

Be careful when it comes to hunting keys in there.

[You can, however, get under the ice. It's just not really worth the effort.

I remember the first time I played through OoT(I was a little kid at the time), I came back to the Zora's Domain a while after beating the Water Temple, and I thought it would be unfrozen. Once I got there and saw that it wasn't, I thought, maybe you had to break the ice, so climbed to the top of the waterfall, ran out into the middle of the air with the hover boots, switched over to the iron boots and used the megaton hammer... ya that was a bad idea on my part.

One thing I found odd was the fact none of the Zoras were there; did they get frozen under the ice?

Yes.

A young man named Sheik saved
me from under the ice...
But my father and the other
Zoras have not
...yet...

Okay, that clarifies. I still don't understand why she went to the Water Temple though. I would have tried to go somewhere else for help.

Morpha was the source of the curse, so she was looking to defeat it.

Also, the sages were called towards their respective temples or somesuch.

Yeah, but that wasn't the direct reason. Like you said, they mainly wanted to destroy the curse in their respective homes.

it stays frozen, due to the game being half finished when relesed, thats why there is a hole in the celing where you meet the big goron (cant spell name is goron that gives you goron braclet and spirtual stone etc.) and why you cant beat the running man. due to rushed cut and chop jobs.

Whilst it's true they they cut a fair amount from the final release, I don't think beating the running man is one of the things they cut; that just seems like an intentional joke.

The running man... I totally forgot about that. I recall doing that run in about a minute or two or something, and never won. I'll just ask right now: is it actually even possible, and is there really a prize? Or did I simply waste thirty minutes of my life?

the running man can reach the end in 0:00 seconds. he instantly reaches the finish line.
it was orignally going to go somwhere.. but there wasnt the time in production of the game so it was patched up. along with many other things in the game, sadly.

Yeah, the guy will always beat you by one second even if you do it as fast as possible. I'm assuming only cheats would be able to get you the win. <_<
