Marvelous Entertainment has released a teaser countdown at the link posted below that contains an image of the three-triangle symbol we know of in Zelda as the Triforce. While it may not be linked, some have speculated that perhaps Marvelous is going to be working to some capacity on a Zelda game.

Thoughts?

Hooray! Another gimmicky item to drive the storyline! Nintendo does it again!

Assuming this is Zelda.

I tend to think so, since SEGA has a similar site up with a pixelated mushroom and the very same countdown date.

Very interesting. Hope Nintendo is getting to do a Sonic game in return.

What does all this mean though? Nintendo haven't announced anything at all, so I really don't know what to make of these teaser countdowns.

I hope its not Zelda related. http://en.wikipedia....s_Entertainment The more I read, the more that the game has "CHEESECHEESECHEESYCHEESE!" written all over it. This goes beyond *shudder shudder* This gives me the jibbies.

Moreover, Nintendo seems to be giving up the concept of developing games from their most notable franchises themselves; first Metroid gets handed over to some random obscure game company that no one had ever heard of (thankfully though, they did an outstanding job), then Starfox gets tossed over to Rare, and then again to Namco (neither of which satisfied the Starfox fanbase much)...why the heck can't they develop Zelda themselves? I guess they're forsaking any franchises that either don't appeal to, or are inappropriate for, families with small children, in favor for casual games, even though those unique franchises are what made Nintendo so successful. x.x

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I feel that I'm only overreacting if it turns out that we're misinterpreting the signs, and its nothing Zelda related.

Assuming this is Zelda.

Sega and Marvelous Entertainment are collaborating on a Zelda/Mario crossover? Or something? This confuses me.

Eh, I'm with Link's love on this.

If Nintendo has to outsource they could at least go to reliable guys like Konami, not unknowns like "Next Level Games" >_>

Has anybody else clicked on that red U in the Sega countdown page? I wouldn't be so sure that it's about Mario.

Anyone knows what the Japanese name of the page means? (Displayed on the taskbar or on top of the window)

The "Zelda" one, of course.

The Marvelous site, if you go View->Source and Google translate the text, you get "MABERASUENTATEIMENTO site appeared to watch the mystery! The new game, a new lap time..." Babel Fish suggests "Clock of puzzle to [maberasuentateimento] official sight appearance! The new game, cuts the new time…."
The title of the page translates to "Will sue you!" (Google) "乞 [u] expectation!" (babel)

I've just learned that Marvelous Entertainment have been working on the Harvest Moon series since 2003, so they aren't really unknowns to the Japanese gaming scene. I think it's plausible for Nintendo to give them the reigns to a new Zelda game.

Someone pointed out that searching the page source + "Zelda" on Google brings up the teaser page. I don't know how Google would have produced that result, so I'm not sure what to say yet.

Best I can tell, The page title (roughly) says, "Please wait." "乞う" meaning "beg" or "entreat" and "期待" meaning "hope for, expect, look forward to."

The description's more difficult. "謎の時計がマーベラスエンターテイメント公式サイトに登場!" is probably "Mysterious clock/timepiece to Marvelous Entertainment's official site release!' "新しいゲームが、新たな時を刻む…" strange as it sounds, seems to mean "The new game cuts/chops new time… " or something like that.

So, in other words, it doesn't reveal anything so far as I can tell.

Ironally enough, the Sega countdown revealed a Super Mario Bros. parody for Wiiware. It looks like we were more correct on that countdown than the other.
