Name: Gate Baal

Original: Yes

Origin: n/a

Race: Half Elf (Human x Elf)

Age: 23

Height: 5’ 7’’

Weight: 140 lb.

Build: Slim

Hair: Gray, short and shaggy

Eyes: Green, appear Gray

Other appearance traits: Small pointed ears and several small scratches and scars covering his entire body.

Attire: He normally wears the clothes of a vagabond; a faded brown linen shirt with long and baggy sleeves with pants of the same color and style. He also wears buckled boots and bandages over his forearms.

Social Class: Lower class

Strengths: Gate is agile, able to move quickly and effectively in any terrain. His slim body build allows his to fit into tight spots and even crawl around in small tunnels. He can conceal daggers and other small blades within his clothing without a single trace and use said weapons during battle for close quarters combat and as projectiles.

Weaknesses: Although his moves are agile and brisk, Gate’s body isn’t trained for endurance and will become exhausted more frequently. Because of this, he is a lazy individual and will rarely go out of his way for the sake of physical activity. He has little physical strength and can’t defend himself very well from a head on attack. He lacks the ability to feel emotion, after traumatic experiences in his life.

Bio: The bastard son, the product of an illegitimate love between a Human and an Elven woman. The father left the mother to bear the child on her own and to raise the child in secret. She gave him the name Gate. Gate was a happy baby, never crying once and always had a smile on his face. He was a constant ray of sunshine in his mother’s life. Only she and her brother knew of the child’s existence, for if anyone else knew that a half elf had been brought into this world, they would surely call it an abomination and kill it. Love between other races outside of their own was considered treason, and defying the laws of the elves would be met with swift judgment. However, after a few short years, the child was discovered and the mother was executed by her own kind for bearing the child of a human. Gate watched helplessly as his mother was taken from her home and beheaded. For the first time in his life, Gate realized fear and was powerless in its wake. Gate was to be killed as well if not for the intervention of his Uncle, who delivered him from death and took him to a safer place. After the day of his rescue, Gate cried for two whole days in grief. For a few years, Gate and his Uncle lived like nomads, wandering from place to place and never staying in the same place for more than a day.

His Uncle hated and loved Gate for the fact the he was a half-breed and at the same time his sister’s child. He was strict with him, always pushing the young half-breed far beyond his limits. For this, Gate began to loathe his uncle, but respected him none the less. He would keep quiet and do whatever his uncle told him to do. “Survival is the most important thing in this world. You have to survive if you want to see a new tomorrow.” Those words, Gate’s uncle’s words rang throughout his head. For young Gate, those words were the absolute truth in life. Eventually, his uncle would run out of tomorrows and his life would end during the ambush from a party of thieves. Outmatched and outnumbered, Gate’s uncle died while resisting the thieving mob. Gate was once again powerless to save his family, held back by fear once again.

Fortunately for Gate, his life was sparred and was taken by the thieves for their own selfish intentions. For the rest of his young life, he was forced to dive into the world of villainy because of the demands of his captors. Thievery, murder and kidnapping were only some of the things he was trained to do on a daily basis. His uncle’s words, ringing in his head like some sort of spell, compelled him to continue living in the worst possible conditions. However, in order to continue living Gate had to become cold, calculating and swift in order to achieve his captor’s goals. At this point in his life, Gate loathed who he was: a half-breed who was powerless to make the slightest difference. Without a logical idea as to who he was or why he had to survive, his heart became colder and colder until the day came where he could no longer feel anything. Happiness, sadness, anger and even fear meant nothing to him now. His face would never show any sign of life and appear as solemn and stern as death itself.

At the age of 18, Gate finally became fed up with his captors and during the dead of the night he killed them all using the very skills he was taught by them. The massacre was not out of revenge or hatred; he was merely exercising his ability to survive. As he stood over a pile of dead bodies and his clothes covered in blood, he felt no remorse for what he had done. His desensitization to bloodshed and fatalities was now complete. After that incident, Gate Baal disappeared without a trace. He wanders from place to place, a vagabond without a destination who makes ends meet by working as an assassin. He distances himself from others, but occasionally makes contact with people whenever he has too. He continues to survive day after day in hopes that there is something to survive for.
