Although this may seem the stupidest question you have ever heard, what genre is Zelda really? I can't call it an RPG fully, but I can't call it an action/adventure. and dont say its an action/rpg, because what I want to know is is it an Action game or an RPG, cuz it has to be one or the other!

It is both.

You can't just say it's an action adventure, because there are too many RPG elements in it... You can't just say it's an RPG, because only one game was actually hardcore RPG.

Like I said before... Don't even try to distinguish what label a game fits into... it's just a label, it's just a game.

Labels destroy the meaning behind something.

"There are people who always try to put a label on it
To try to create something so they can water it down."

Adventure. It doesn't really have any RPG elements. But we've had this tired old argument many times. On top of being pointless and demeaning, nobody ever gets convinced of anything.

It's Action/Adventure.

True adventure games don't involve any "arcade" sequences, like King's Quest, Space Quest, Laura Bow, Gabriël Knight, that sort of stuff.

RPG includes stats you can raise, Zeldagames simply don't have that.

Adventure/RPGs exist, but they are rare. The only title I can think of is Quest for Glory series

Its an adventure. You play a character, not a role.

well, really my friend said action and I SAID NOT TOO SAY BOTH but I really thank you for all your efforts, yeah, really.............but thats not the point. I have never been able to decide. Though my friend made a good point. There are no level ups. There are no stat increases instead of health...and would you call star fox Adventures an rpg, I think not. HOwever, I do still think both is possible, it all depends on the popular vote, right?

I SAID NOT TOO SAY BOTH

If people believe it is a combination of both, then of course that;s what they'll say.

Why would they lie, just to meet some foolish little rule of yours?
