1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Yes
2. What is your opinion on it?
It's not wrong per se, except when it degrades any of the participants.
3. Is it realistic?
It depends. Many of the stories it "tells" are highly unrealistic. But the things they do aren't unrealistic. I suppose it's because I watch amateur porn.
4. Does it degrade women?
I find straight porn degrading against women. But since I only watch gay porn, I hardly encounter that problem.
5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
Nope.
6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
Reduce.
7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
No.
8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
They don't work, but it's a way of keeping it legal. It's not like anything can be done to check if you are 18.
9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?
Nope.
10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
It's as legitimate as any other industries. I personally think it's more moral and less degrading than exploitation in the South east of Asia.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Yes

2. What is your opinion on it?
Porn itself I don't have a problem with but I don't know hot trustworth the industry is. It can also help couples come up with interesting ways to improve their sexual relationship.

3. Is it realistic?
Uhh... It's real sex. Realistic how?

4. Does it degrade women?
I don't think so. At least not ever single one.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
No.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
There's been sexual crime before there's been pornography. I think this is the same argument that says videogames make kids shoot up schools. It's just a scapegoat

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
Hahaha... NO!

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
I'm sure there are some good kids that would see that and decide not to lie, but it's just as simple as clicking a button or entering a fake birthday. It's probably not a very useful deterrent, but parents have control over what their children do so maybe shift responsibility.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?
How do you define addiction to porn?

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
That I don't know. I've heard stories about the mob being involved. I think I have good enough reason to doubt its "legitimacy".

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Nope

2. What is your opinion on it?
As long as people don't obsess over it destructively, it's fine. They're all consenting adults. Or atleast they should be.

3. Is it realistic?
Depends on the porn. I've heard that there's like, sci-fi porn and shit.

4. Does it degrade women?
Depends on the porn. There's lots of porn that doesn't even HAVE women in it, but if they do, the women could be the dominant ones. Frankly, I'm of the opinion that everyone in the industry is degraded.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
I find it atrociously disgusting, just like normal sex, but it's not wrong.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
Neither, that's a stupid question.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
NO

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
Well, they have to be put there by law, and I'm sure they don't work all of the time. If some little brat really wants to see, they'll go right in ahead, but it's not like the porn site is responsible.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was addicted to internet porn?
Yea, but the guy had all sorts of problems. Wierd f*cker thought I was a wizard and wanted me to turn him into an anthro fox.

And he wasn't related to Fyxe. O.o

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
It's about as legitimate as any other business, but that's like saying that shit is just as good a fertilizer as anything else.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?

Not in a long time. I don't feel a real need to anymore.

2. What is your opinion on it?

All it's really good for is the obvious. And it works for what it's for. But I've only ever watched it until it has met its purpose. Aftre that I always turned it off in disgust. The acting, story, plot, all of it is just terrible.

3. Is it realistic?

If realism is what you want then go get a life.

4. Does it degrade women?

Not in the least.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?

Not at all.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?

Neither.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?

No.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?

They don't work. Not unless it has age verication with it.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?

Nope.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?

I didn't know it wasn't.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
-
Oh yes. Quite a bit, and of different variety.

2. What is your opinion on it?
-Lot of it can be hot, some kinda boring, others very laughable.

3. Is it realistic?
-Depends on where you go. Amateur stuff tends to be fairly real, but the professional stuff tends to be very fake.

4. Does it degrade women?
-Nah, not the kind that I've seen. The ones that are meant to make women seem lower than men are very obviously fake. Most of the stuff I've seen the woman is having all kinds of fun. Laughing afterwards, even.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
-Nope!

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
-Neither, really. I've seen more people watching porn and say "..Hey I wanna try that with my boy/girlfriend!" than anything.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
-Fuck no. Unless a third party has reasonable cause to do so, with a legal and valid warrant, they should stay out of my property.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
-They don't work. If someone wants to view porn, they're gonna view porn.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?

-Addicted to masturbating, but not necessarily porn. My boyfriend and I will watch the freaky stuff just to laugh. It's like our estranged form of comedy hour.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?

-I think it's legitimate. With the exception of the black market porn, the professionals do keep tabs on their actors for disease and such. And I hear it pays well. I probably wouldn't pursue it as a career, but eh.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?

Of course. And before that, it was late night HBO (I was a curious kid)

2. What is your opinion on it?

It serves a purpose and does it well. If you don't want to watch it, you don't have to. Everyone's happy (well, everybody that isn't a judgmental busy-body, anyways)

3. Is it realistic?

It can be, if you know where to look (I kinda prefer the homemade stuff)

4. Does it degrade women?

Only if that's theme. They have that with guys too, so no biggy and everyone gets paid.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?

Yeah, along with procreation as a whole. Now, let me tighten the knot on my chastity belt. <_<

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?

Neither. As vodkamaru said, it's nothing more than a scapegoat. In the end, it's the individual, not his inspiration.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?

No, that's ok. I'm happy with my privacy, thanks ^_^

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?

Seeing as I've been going to porn since we first got the internet, I'd say no. They're just ways to cover their own asses. Of course, the parent still needs to be able to keep track of what their kid does online (no kid under the age of 16 needs a computer in their room, IMO)

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?

Nope. Most of my friends don't even buy it either. Youporn is like Youtube for it :D

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?

It's one of the mainstays of my argument for the legalization of prostitution. A consenting person gets paid to have sex and it's illegal, but a consenting person gets paid to have sex on film in order to be distributed for a profit and suddenly, it's legal again??

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Of course. I'm 19 years old, and far, far, far from perfect.

2. What is your opinion on it?
Well, I'm a little two-faced about this, of course, because I'm a monster hypocrite when it comes to these things. I believe it's a sin, as per my beliefs, and I believe that it affects your relationships with others. I have a girlfriend that I fully intend to marry when we're older, and I don't want our relationship to be about sex, I want it to be about love. Although, in today's world, it's just SO easy to "Get on, get off, get offline" that its just too great of a temptation to avoid it completely.

3. Is it realistic?
Not the Robot Tentacle Rapage Hentai. ^_^ Or what do you mean on this?

4. Does it degrade women?
Some of it does, yes. I don't believe that the pornography itself degrades women. Those who are involved in it are mostly involved according to their own choice. But it's when men watch it, and it's so widely available and you can't really go anywhere or do anything without the media slamming sex into your head that it's being degrading. Junk in, Junk out. We become obsessed with the disposability of a woman on the internet, and it translates into our lives off of the computer.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
No, I find the mere want of it wrong. Or dwelling on it, or craving it. But if you're in a state of retrospect and trying to figure out if you're addicted or not, or if there's someone you can go to for help that might have some experience in the subject of porn addiction... that's where it becomes wrong.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
I don't know. I don't have a basis of knowledge or reference to answer the question logically.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
No. First of all, it interferes with someone's right to privacy.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
It's entirely way too easy to avoid them. Usually all you have to do is put in your birthday. I was born in 1988, and when I went to a porn site when I was 16 or 17 that had those kinds of warnings on them, I always just put in '1980' to get around it.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?
Yep. I was once, I think. I still lust an amazingly large amount, in the worst situations. But I've not actually broken out the Porn Sites in a few weeks. One of my friends I've known since 6th or 7th grade helped me get through with it because he'd dealt with the same thing. And I won't be able to for a while because now I'm on a school server, which probably blocks that stuff or sends up red flags somewhere.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
Deduct from above answers.

funny how I got caught watching porn the same night I first saw this thread...

Anyways!

1. Have you ever watched internet porn? Um, isn't that what the internet is for? It would be impossible to online not come across at least once.

2. What is your opinion on it? It's just another form of media and does what it's design to: arouse.

3. Is it realistic? Maybe the amature videos are.

4. Does it degrade women? Depends. It might make men set their standards too high. I mean why bother trying to get know an average looking girl with the slimmest chance of getting laid when you have a virtual hottie you have instant access too 24/7.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong? No, not really.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it? I think it reduces it. Like I said earlier, it decreases men's desire to pursue actual women. Or men if they're gay or female. Or women if they're lesbians. You get the idea...

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern? hell no! That's personal!

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
How would they work? You can still click yes even though you're not 18 and there's no real way to prove it your age over the net that I know of.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn? nearly every male I know regardless of orientation. Females, I don't know. I've only known one girl who was and she had a hwole lot.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business? Um, why is this a question? Of course it is! It's a form of entertainment like anything else. It's a legally run business and it's actors aren't slaves forced to do whta they do on screen. Some of them get paid pretty well, enjoy their job, and if anyone seen any porn actors out of character they're quite silly people and are always goofing which each other like of actors tend to do on any other set. Hell, some of them are actually SHY in real life! Whuddathunk!

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?

Yup

2. What is your opinion on it?

Wow there's a lot of it.

3. Is it realistic?

No...kind of...sometimes...I dunno...nothing wrong with fantasy though

4. Does it degrade women?

That's a tough one. Porn is not inherently degrading to women but there is a lot of that kind of thing out there. Personally I find stuff like Girls Gone Wild way more degrading. They hit these girls up who are usually intoxicated, peer pressure the hell out of them, and don't pay them shit.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?

Hell no

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?

Depends entirely on the person. Your average person views porn for his/her entertainment and no harm comes from it, yet an unbalanced person who watches it may be inspired to commit a sexual crime. Same argument for can be made for violent movies and games. There are those people who can be set off...you can't blame the medium, these people are already disturbed.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?

Another tough one, because child pornographers should be hunted down like dogs, and raped by sharp instruments until they die. Horribly. But, I'm not keen on being spied on either.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?

No, the warnings do not work.
Porn sites ought to take more responsibility to make sure underage people can't access their sites. It's in the porn industry's best interest to enforce the age requirements.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?

Addiction means it is actually having a negative impact on your day to day life, so I would say no, I don't know anyone like that.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?

I liked SOAP's answer to that one.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Of course I have.

2. What is your opinion on it?
I think it's fine for consenting adults to watch it or make it. It's useful for helping oneself relieve frustration now and then, though sometimes the more outlandishly perfect-looking women that appear in some of it make me a little uncomfortable with my own body. That's more due to the entirety of the media and its constant harping that all women should have the same body type... porn's not the only culprit here.

3. Is it realistic?
Amateur porn: yes, generally. I tire of professional videos where the, ah... actors? are clearly faking things... and of course, it's unrealistic to expect your pizza man to bring you a pizza and then start suddenly having sex with you.

4. Does it degrade women?
So long as the women involved have given their consent and don't have a problem with what they are doing, no. Different strokes (heh, no pun intended) for different folks, I say. Some might view certain fetish videos as particularly degrading, but if that's what the people doing it enjoy, how can one call that "degrading"?

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
Clearly, no.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
It depends entirely on the person. SOAP mentioned that it might lessen the desire for actual contact, but for others it may increase that desire. For others, it has no effect whatsoever on real-life sexual encounters. I don't think this is a question that can be generalized.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
Definitely not, at least not without a damn good reason and a warrant.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
Of course they don't work, but there aren't really a lot of ways to prove one's age over the internet. Besides, ever since Playboy and HBO/Skin-imax were created, children have been sneaking porn. It's something that should be dealt with by the parents, anyway. It's their job to teach their kids about sexual responsibility.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was adicted to internet porn?
I agree with deathsauron's definition of "addicted" and by that standard, no I have not. At least, not knowingly.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
I've got to agree with SOAP on this as well. Professional porn stars are required to take safety precautions these days, I believe, which is really the only concern I'd have with it.

Hopefully you will never go through that stage. Porn is just a poor substitute for the real thing. It's nothing to care about.

Allow to propse two more questions:

11. Have you ever thought of working in the porn industry? If not, would you fault someone else for wanting to?

I've seriously thought about it once but after I thought about I figured I was better than that. I wouldn't fault anyone who would want to be in that business or who already are. Everyone has their own thing.

12. Have you ever watched porn opposite of your orientation either by accident or curiosity and gotten pleasure out of it? Would it make someone gay or vice versa if they did?

I sometimes get bored and look at straight porn. I wouldn't consider myself straight because of it but I have become a bet bi because of it. I've known a lesbian girl (the girl who I mentioned earlier who had a ton of porn) who actually not had straight porn but gay male porn which was just beyond bizarre. Her justification was that skin was skin.

1. Have you ever watched internet porn?
Sure have.

2. What is your opinion on it?
Lot of weird stuff out there. In the spirit of free exchange, I feel it's ok to present anything online that is acceptable by law. However, I feel it is a matter of personal responsibility (or parental responsibility) to regulate visiting these sorts of sites. Other than that, its not too terribly different than pre-internet porn.

3. Is it realistic?
A fraction of it is realistic, and the majority of it is beyond fake.

4. Does it degrade women?
Some fetishes are more prone than others, but in the big scheme not really.

5. Do you find the mere thought of it wrong?
Burn it all I say.

6. Do you think it encourages sexual crime or reduces it?
Going to have to agree with Wisp on this one, its way too case-specific to answer in a general statement.

7. Do you believe that a third party should have access to what you view on the internet, at public safeties concern?
Only for material that is deemed gateway into more serious / illegal action (and then that reasoning backed by overwhelming statistic). Stuff like kiddie porn shouldn't be on there anyways, if anything thats what should be monitored closely.

8. What do you think of the "Are you over 18" warnings on the websites? Do they work? Are they just cover ups?
The moment I passed that sign when I was 17, I immediately shut off my browser and turned myself in to the local authorities. Did some hard time for that crime.

9. Have you ever encounted anyone who was addicted to internet porn?
Yes. Albeit its a pretty rare thing to see happen, when it does occur it's something that should be dealt with swiftly and tactfully. Handling those sorts of things wrong can scar people something fierce.

10. What is your stance on the porn industry as a legitimate business?
As long as tabs and records are kept of all the actors, then I don't think its a problem at all.

Just because a criminal admits intent doesn't necessarily make it true. I can go rob a gas station and say Seseme Street told me to do it.

It is very possible Bundy was just using porn as an excuse for his behavior. Or for that matter, it is possible he was telling the truth. Its just too gray of an area to point to one case and say 'AHA'.

It's more likely that Bundy was just mentally unstable/an extreme asshole, and would've done it somehow anyway, and if porn didn't get the kill-bill rolling, something else would've, like video games.

You're not eunichs , are you?

Kudos to you, Goose, for starting an intresting point of discussion, allow me to weigh in.

1. Yes.

2. It's human nature, any act that a person partakes in will be depicted in some form of media, sex would be an obvious candidate for such a medium.

3. Commercial porn certainly isn't, but amateur pornography obviously is... but I think the reality is realism isn't so much the point... means to ends, if you catch my drift.

4. Depends on what company you are talking about, commercial porn like any other industry (not limited to those in sexual nature) can revel in both the good and the bad. Abuse, as well as the matter of those who take advantage of ignorant participants (ie. girl who just turned 18 and needs some cash to make the ends meet). Abuse is not all that uncommon (see: Suicide Girls) in any level of pornography. So in terms of degradition, that happens both on and off the camera. And in any form of reenactment shall we say, such insulting behaviour can occur (it happens in movies all the time) but does not mean that it in reality took place. So whether or not the on camera behaviour is disgusting does not dictate what occurs off camera.

5. I am not a person to say what is right and wrong in this world, if everyone tried to dictate the actions of others we would have war and violence and complete chaos in this world (Whoops too late).

6. Society is intresting like that. If you are talking Japan, I am agreeing with the side that says it lowers the amount of sexual violence, they have the most open society in that regard (IMO) and are looking at one of the lesser rates of sexual crime. However, pornography is very avaliable in the United States as well and the rates are higher? Is it people, or the pornography? I feel that with or without the existing material people do what they do because they want to.

7. I feel everyone has the right to privacy, again pointing to the fact that I feel no person has the right to tell the other what to do, unless they are harming something.

8. More of a covering your butt kind of scheme than anything. Just like, we don't sell cigarettes to minors but I've been smoking from a very young age.

9. No, but the prospect of such an occurance does not seem that far out to me. Booze, drugs, anything good can have those who do it in excess, no?

10. You gotta make a living somehow, I suppose.
