Has anyone else noticed the forum's frequent relapses, in which it gets rid of all posts posted after the 11th, and then, several hours later, returns to normal?

i'm fine with it glitching just as long as the posts keep coming back. i seriously thought about leaving when we lost those two weeks at the beginning of the year.

It's seriously annoying. I couldn't post at all last night, and it gave me a big fright when the site told me that all the topics were deleted. It's worse than having random downtime.
Plus it signs me off when it happens. :\
Has the problem been looked into?

Trying to bring this to teh Khuff's attention before he leaves for the North Pole. I've not noticed a problem though, but then I am on a different time.

EDIT: Khuff says for some reason your ISPs are still pointing to the old server. He's done something that ought to sort it out.

I just wanted to say that if people are still experiencing these issues I'd like them to do the following

open up the command prompt in windows
type "ping www.legendsalliance.com", jot down the ip
type "ping forums.legendsalliance.com", jot down the ip

let me know what the ips are in this thread.

This is...odd.

Do you have to be in a specific directory when you do this or just from whatever comes up when you launch the command prompt? Just curious.

For the record, as I know there are a few Mac users on LA, the same syntax applies for the Terminal as Windows' command prompt in this instance.

So, "ping www.legendsalliance.com" and "ping forums.legendsalliance.com" will work in the Terminal, found under the Utilities folder in Applications.

So, you go Start - Run - Type it in, press enter, yes? But the window that appears closes itself too quickly for me to take note of what it says.

By the time I had that copied, the forum was back up; those numbers might be reflecting the actual server rather than the ghost, I'm not sure. Sometime's it's quick, sometimes not.

Erm, when you ping, just type "forums.legendsalliance.com". No "http://"

And Showsni, in the Run prompt, type "cmd", then type the ping command in the command prompt that pops up and you should be able to see it

Were you experiencing the time machine effect then? Because according to the IPs, you were going to the right server...unlike when I got Vet to do it when he was experiencing wonkiness...

...this is fishy. Anyone experiencing this?

It's possible that by the time I'd pinged it'd gone back to normalcy; as soon as I saw that it was warping I opened up the command prompt and pinged both sites, but by the time I finished it was back to normal. It's odd. Sometimes it'll stay like that for hours, sometimes seconds.
