Name: Masachika Yui
Original: Yes
Origin: Naruto
Gender: Female
Age: 11 (may be played older)

Strengths: Wicked fast and extremely nimble, Yui is a very hard target to hit. Her mind is sharp and detail oriented. There is little that can slip past her. Her combat abilities mostly involve swords and sebon. While still young, her accuracy with a sebon is very good and seems to only get better with age and practice. Her current weapon of choice is a dao (Chinese sabre). She has some skill in fire jutsus but her success is limited to short and intense bursts. See weaknesses for more detail.

Weaknesses: Yui’s chakra control is absolutely dismal. Whether it’s by some genetic defect that her chakra system releases too much at a time or if it’s suppressed anger expressing as poor control no one is quite sure. Therefore he skills with ninjustu and genjustu are lacking. Her basics are fine but her frustrations mount when trying more advanced jutsus. And she easily becomes frustrated. She has an inferiority complex for feeling like she doesn’t meet her family’s expectations and is deeply resentful and angry behind her cool exterior for being a mere experiment. When her temper is roused it is not easily put back in check. She is also much more susceptible to illness due to the weakened genes of her clan.

Appearance:
Tall for her age she appears almost malnourished from her height and lack of meat on her bones. Her face even as a child is long and angular. Skin is pale though if she saw more sunlight she would actually be a light golden tan. Hair is an odd color of cerulean blue from her mother’s side. Though reaching to the end of her tailbone, it is usually kept up and styled elaborately by her family. Eyes are a dark blue.

Personality: A prideful streak runs deep as taught by her family. She is unsure how to approach people from outside her clan. Her feeling towards her clan have become increasingly bitter. She will push herself to the absolute limits and beyond to attain her goals.

Bio: Yui’s story starts long before she was born. The dwindling power of the Masachika clan and their inability to produce another ninja with the bloodline trait led them to consider what they hadn’t in generations. To purposefully let a member of their clan have a child with someone outside of their ranks. Perhaps the foreign blood would allow the limit to activate again. They chose powerful woman from the Village of the Mist who had been wounded in battle and her honour marred. Having little to lose and with the understanding that she’d be compensated handsomely she agreed to their plans. The clan chose a man who had the deepest genetic ties to the last known person to express the Hyakubun Matsudai.

Though hoping for a male to lead the clan when they were old enough, the child was instead female. This was the first in a long line of offenses out of her control that Yui would incur. The woman, having fulfilled her bargain, was sent off immediately after she’d regained her strength. Yui never actually met her mother. Instead Yui was raised as a child that belonged to the entire clan, as she was their hope. The best teachers tutored her and they hoped she would become a superb ninja. The girl was always confused though, as other children had mothers and fathers. Yui had never met her mother and by the time she was six she could count the number of times she’d met her father face to face on one hand. All her inquiries into why this was were deflected by saying she was a special child. The answer never sat well with her.

A year later she discovered what she really was and why her father never saw her through gossip between the Masachika women. She was a mere experiment to retain the glory of the lost clan. Though young, she understood the basic implications of this. If she faltered in anything, the shower of love and attention would end. She pushed herself to her absolute limits from that day on.

When she was eight her tutors noticed that her initially speedy progress in the way of the shinobi was slowing. After test after test they discovered her chakra control was severely lacking. The best explanation they could find was that her chakra circulatory system was damaged somehow. The second theory was some form of a mental block. Yui fears started to be realized as her teachers and the other members of the clan began to pay her less attention. The girl began pushing herself even beyond her limits and still it wasn’t enough.

By the time she was ready to enter the ninja academy, she had a bitterness in her that a child her age shouldn’t be acquainted with. She hadn’t had an audience with her father for over two years at that point and she believed she probably never would again…unless it was to be told she had been disowned for her failure.

Masachika ninja, Yui knew, often did not attend a public academy. Only their best and brightest attended to prove their superior skills or the failures the tutors couldn’t be bothered to waste their time on. The girl wasn’t sure which one she was or if this was a test to determine which one she would become.

Nicely balanced, perhaps even a bit too much towards the weak side. Interesting bio. Approved.
