Do you still have an NES? If you look on eBay, you might have a chance to find the actual cartridge instead. As far as I know, the emulated games are too hard to find nowadays. If you or somebody in your family can pay online, you're sure to be successful.

What's the problem with the system? Is it the connector? If you go on eBay, you might be able to not just get the game, but you could replace your NES with one that actually works. Give it a go. It's a much safer thing to do than download the game to play on your computer. And from what I know, the game, when played on a real NES, sounds a tad better than when emulated. I had a damaged NES, and I was able to easily replace it when I went to eBay. Find the right auction (make sure that the seller accepts Paypal, which is an easy way to send money), and you might find one in great shape. I've seen a lot of them on eBay. Most assuredly you could try that first. I can't help you find any download sites.... I've looked and I think they're all gone. Just find an NES that has a brand new connector installed. Your old games will be working in no time flat, if you can get them clean.

Or maybe he should do both. I don't think that the GBA game can beat the original NES game, can it? By playing it on the NES, he could do it on the big screen. But he should also get the GBA one, in case he has any travel to do. Of course, there is always the problem with the NES, so I'd reccommend trying to get the top-loading NES, if possible.

With a GBAplayer you can play it on your GameCube on the big screen.

What could be possibly wrong with trying to play the game on the actual NES? I know it's old.... If your TV doesn't have an antenna connector that you can connect an RF switch to, you might need to find the AV cable for the NES. Trouble is, it's not easy to find it.
