Old Kakariko(?)

Many people complain (while others praise) Old Kakariko's Western style, and even New Kakariko's slightly less, but still noticable western feel. Well, today, while browsing through my Zelda-favorites folder, I found Zelda Universe and decided to look around. They had artwork, and I always enjoy looking at concept sketches for characters, to see what they started as on-paper. Then, I stumbled upon this screenshot.
java script:window.open('http://www.zelda.com...=600,height=740').focus();
That link might be broken, but here's a backup:
http://www.zelda.com...lda/artwork.jsp
scroll down, and you'll find a picture of a village with a single person.
Now, I can't decide if it's Old or New Kakariko (or is it Hyrule Market??!?), but whatever the case, it did not look like that in-game. Clearly, the early concept was not a western village. Now, if this shot is of the Market, then I guess this is a waste of time. However, I think it looks a lot like the Old Kakariko (the single person being the give-away, but the clothes lines throwing me off), and if so, you can clearly see the more Renaissance-tone to it...and I thought many people that were upset with the town's "feel" would be pleased to know it wasn't always this way.
So, I was wondering what location you guys think this is. And if it's what I think it is, perhaps a discussion about the change, etc. Errmmm....yeah. -cough-

Also, near the gate, which was in that abandoned village, is a large tower, which was also in the abandoned village.
Or.... is that what you mean by Old Kakariko?
Also, keep in mind that since this is an early drawing, it may be neither, and it may be an early idea for one that was scrapped and had parts sent to the other places, and vice versa....

That last part of your post makes a very good point...One that I'm looking into right now with side by side screenshots >_<

Yes, it is what I meant by old kakariko; the sign above the entrance to the 'abandoned village' says "Old Kakariko", but is illegible in the Wii-flipped version.

I play the GC version, but I've never noticed it said that... was it actual text, or was it one of those Hylian texture things they put on there for people to decipher?
