Do you need to be an RP'er to be King of the Hill? If so, then why is it a helicopter can take off in one spot, stay hovering for a while, then land again and is in the same spot despite the earth rotation?

...simple question, I think I asked it before...

There are many factors involved in this. Part of it is that the atmosphere rotates similarly to the solid earth, and it exerts a force that keeps the helicopter near its inital position relative to the planet's surface. The other part is that the pilot, attempting to hover in a constant position, would correct for anything that might appear to move him from his spot, anything like planetary rotation.
