IGN have posted some videos from the Minish Cap demonstration.

Points of Note:

- The Game is meant to tie all the Four Swords games together, with the rest of the Zelda mythology.

- This game shows how Link came to find his Green Hat.

- The humans (big people) in TMC, call the small people the Picori, but they call themselves the Minish people.

- Link has an item called the Ocarina of Wind (same as the flute and ocarina of time) which plays the recorder music from Hyrule Fantasy, and as with ALttP, a bird picks you up allowing you to warp to different areas.

- The King of Hyrule (dauphnes?) orders Link to seek out the Picori, as they are the only ones who can break Vaati's spell on Zelda. Link is the only one who can do this, as the Picori/Minish only appear to children.

- "This game takes place well well well before Four Swords & Four Swords Adventures..."

- The Cap "Ezlo" has been cursed by Vaati, and needs your help to break it.

- Vaati is on a quest to be the most powerful sorcerer. This is "early in his career" and he places a curse on Zelda.

- This game will take us deep into "Hylian Lore".

- You live in your grandfather's house

- In some areas you can see the shadows of the clouds (South Hyrule Field)

Also, looking at the various videos, here is the Map so far...

This is good stuff...I'm not into the GBA games...but I just may want to cop one just to play MC--then sell it when I beat the game.

I was sure that this game was the FS backstory, once Zethar reported this game being Vaati's first appearance. But the other stuff looks very promising, especially the first point. ;)

That map looks a lot like the LoZ map. Like how Zora's River runs south, and there are woods to the west of it.

So now we have THREE separate Links who look exactly the same? (TWW, FS/FSA, TMC) Unless this is somehow a sequel to TWW.

Designs do not matter. XD. Remember my old theory?

Seriously, there's the hero from the prologue too. He also looks like WW/FS/MC Link.

Yeah but the pre-Minish Cap Link is depicted without a cap. The Link we will play with in MC is supposed to be the first Link that starts the tradition of wearing a green hat. The Links after the MC Link will begin wearing the green hats as well in homage of the MC Link's ally. Then gradually that will be apart of the basic fit of the "hero".

Great info, I intend to buy on the day it comes out, hopefully this will explain of things. I think the main reason they use WW like sprites is because in my opinion they look better than any other 2D sprites.

I think that's the reason as well. I read an article about how Capcom...could've just use the LTTP format they already had...but they wanted the game style to have a similar effect to the TWW becuz they felt it looked better and fit the game well (which I agree), and have an environment different from most Zelda games. So just becuz it resembles TWW doesn't necessarily mean it has anything to do with it.

But... the tradition of Link dressing in green dates back to the Ocarina of Time, when he was raised among the Kokiri...

...unless... this predates even the Ocarina of Time?! Oh NOES!!!

My dream to tie the FS stuff into the rest of my timeline is fulfilled... but at the expense of the rest of the Universe!

Lol, Ditto. It could be possible that the Minish like, evolved into Kokiri to honor the Hero? It...could be possible o.o;

This Link is the first one to wear a green cap, not green clothes. However, that still means that this is before OOT.

Maybe the Minish or the Picori, whoever they are, become the Kokiri?

According to Zethar, they're called the Picori, but the humans refer to them as the Minish. Or is it the other way around? I wish I'd saved that convo...

They are the minish people, but because their language sounds like "picori" to humans, humans call them the Picori.

Thanks. And I just noticed... that was in your first post. :deadlink:

Wow nifty find. I especially like the map layout, helps shine light on the game a bit more. And this also helps me with the picori and minish confusion that plauged me.
