Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
*gasp* Long time no see.
Shadow Link says:
'Cause I'm never on MSN in the morning.
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Yeah, but still
Shadow Link says:
T'was a snow day here today; ice pellets froze my Mom's van over…
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Ah
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
I wish I had snow.
Shadow Link says:
You mean you didn't get part of that snow storm?
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
No, I mean I wish I would see snow again
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Haven't for 10 years.
Shadow Link says:
…You live in a place with a big drought, don't you.
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Um..O.o
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
I live smack in the middle of a desert o.o
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
I thought you were aware of that?
Shadow Link says:
Geh? I was not… where DO you live?
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Where do you think I live?
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
I thought I told you? O.o
Shadow Link says:
Nope… do you live in the Sahara or something? (Yes, I'm ignorant.)
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
The land of public execution
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Which at times is fun to watch ^^;
Shadow Link says:
Oh is that one of those slum places? (I can't remember my geography.)
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
No, its actually very high class where I live
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
No slums here
Shadow Link says:
Yup, I've forgotten my geography already. XD. Thanks for correcting me…
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Yeah ^^;
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Um..I hope you know where Saudi Arabia even is O.o
Shadow Link says:
Europe or Africa. I know it's one of the two. I think it's Europe.
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
. . .
Zanzibar - Whip Lash Fury says:
Middle East...
Shadow Link says:
…I need to invest in maps.

Great, now the History professor is looking at me funny for cracking up in class.

Or maybe he thinks I just find the election of 1932 hilarious.
Oh, New Deal! You never cease to amuse me!

Hey, in his defense...Saudi Arabia COULD almost be a part of Africa, if it weren't for a...large body of water and millions of years of division between two continental plates. Yeaaaah.

Ho man! Do you live here in the US? If so I don't blame you for the lack of geographical knowledge. Heck I only recently found out there was a country called "Canada" north of us a few years back. And here I had grown up thinking there was northing but ice and snow up there. Blew my mind away.

Saudi Arabia in Europe?! The closest thing you can find here is Spain. S-P-A-I-N

Actually, I think most, if not all, of Turkey is considered to be part of Asia Minor / Anatolia. XP

But... just.... oi. So sad. Then again, my college aged friend came up to me a while back with a map of Europe wailing at me, "FIND POLAND, I DON'T KNOW, IS IT THIS ONE?" She, of course, pointed to England. So I guess you're not alone.

I've heard American geography classes aren't as "in-depth" than other countries because their economy was/is so strong that they can just support themselves. So that could be why.

Unless you’re not from the USA. In which case: for shame! =P

Both Europe and Asia, according to wikipedia. The thing throwing me off was a strategy game called "journey through europe" in which you had to plot a course through europe, hit several randomly selected destinations, and return to where you started. They included Turkey as part of Europe.

Ask any American to find Scandinavia and they won't be able to tell you where that "country" is. I'm so embarrassed.

Lmao, well, yes. If it's sitting on Anatolia, it's therefor stuck right on top of the imaginary line that divides 'Europe' from 'Asia.' But if Ankara's considered a part of Anatolia, then I'd daresay it's mainly a part of said region, even if just under half of it stretches into other territories. :P

I've heard American geography classes aren't as "in-depth" than other countries because their economy was/is so strong that they can just support themselves. So that could be why.

Bah, it's no excuse! We still have the power to buy maps or to look at a globe. Even if some classrooms do have.... you know... the USSR and Czechoslovakia on their globes. XP

Sigh.

No. We do not count. Although a lot of countries around the world just think Canada is a part of the United States, so you could just claim that you were getting back at them. =P

Even if some classrooms do have.... you know... the USSR and Czechoslovakia on their globes. XP

Yeah, my Geography teacher used a map with the USSR on it. I asked her if she was aware that the Soviet Union broke up a long time ago. She just said 'well, just switch USSR with Russia.'

I didn't bother trying to explain that the USSR was actually fifteen (or so?) different countries.

Ah, but then it also depends on whether we're talking geographically about a place with a body of water between itself and main Europe...or a place that very much wants to be part of the same economic system as the rest of Europe. Euros and all that junk. XP

And dude...I considered myself embarrassed in 6th grade when I didn't know what made 48 of the United States 'contiguous'. Otherwise, most geographical terms and names have been...fairly easy to come by.

...though I fail at remembering what some of those boxy states are in the middle of the USA. They're all shaped the same, dangit, and frankly... I don't see much of importance happening in Wyoming or Nebraska unless it's in the past, and involved either persecution of natives or dust bowls. XP
