Who here thinks that Zelda should be made for more then just the Gamecube? I moved to XBox because at the time of buying, Gamecube did not have enough strong titles to justify the upgrade. Whereas XBox had Halo (a real winner), Halo 2 coming in 12 months, and quite a few very good games. Plus the fact that you have a built-in hard disk, and XBox Live, which means you can do a whole lot more with your console (This thread is not an ad for XBox, for those of you are wondering).

no, it shouldn't because then Nintendo would have zero income, and the zelda franchise would crumble into whatever bill gates or some other hell fire demon wants it to be that really isn't zelda.

Nintendo will never put their first and second party titles on a non-Nintendo console as long as their still in the hardware business.

I love how people will justify the Xbox's success with graphics. Whatever happened to gameplay?

No, just...no. An Xbox or PS2 Zelda would just flat out ruin the series. Kind of like an M-rated Mario game.

Zelda on XBox? Hm... no, I just don't see it happening. It's like Rare starting to make games for the Gamecube or Final Fantasy games finally appearing on other consoles.

Every console will have its exclusive games and Zelda is Nintendo's.

Coming in 1 month, you mean.

And no, Zelda on Xbox would totally ruin the experience.

Why would nintendo do that? They would just lose money, esepcially as Zelda is a figure head game, it would be like monkeys eating potatoes.

HELL NO!!!

X-Box may have more titles, but they only have a couple of good titles (most people seem to say Halo and Fable). Gamecube has more good quality games (Zelda, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros Melee, Starfox etc), whereas X-box mostly has multi-platform games.

Plus the fact that you have a built-in hard disk,

A hard disk is a moving part, and therefore another thing that can break easily.

(This thread is not an ad for XBox, for those of you are wondering).

LOL! That's great to hear! :D

No, no, no and NO. If this ever happened, I would build a shrine to worship Mike Peters, assassinate Maddox and then kill myself. In other words, never.

And did I mention "no"?

the good people of nintendo would have to be idiotic to do that to The Legend of Zelda... that game series is one of nintendos biggest money makers, and if it went to other systems they'd lose money because of people not buying their systems

If it was used by Sony, it would probably have some better RPG elements, and if used by Microsoft it would definately have better graphics, and more vast lands, but Nintendo owns Zelda, and nothing can change that.

maybe on the sony bit, but i don't see why... zelda invented half of the basic rpg concepts, sony just stole them. i don't see how they would be better, just more plentiful.

no on the microsoft bit... microsoft consistently fails to properly polish it's titles like nintendo. it would look no better, suffer from sucky controllers, and would be subject to bloated code that would hurt cpu power.

and it's a terrible idea to put zelda on anything but a nintendo console. we've seen time and time again that games work best if made specifically for one system. zelda especially shows this.

On the subject of Microsoft "stealing" rare... Heh. I am glad they did.

Think about it. When was the last time Rareware made a good game? Personally, I'd say it was Goldeneye or Banjo-Kazooie, whichever came later. Conke may have had good gameplay, but the toilet humor ruined it. Banjo-tooie was a horrible, tedious, boring fetch quest. Perfect Dark was Goldeneye, only worse. Jet Force Gemini was fairly good, until you realized that you were required to collect all those pathetic tribals.

So. Rare hasn't made a good game in... eight years. And Microsoft paid amazing amounts of money for the company.

That was... what? Two years ago now? Three? And Rareware has only made one Xbox game since then, and it got terrible reveiws.

Lysia has a point. X-Box may have good hardware and tons of games but the only "good" X-Box exclusive title is Halo and that game is terribly overhyped. I personally liked Halo. It was okay. But nothing really amzing except for the fact you're playing in a invertedly bent world. But even then, you wouldn't even know it was bent if it wasn't for the large ring looping through the sky.

Why the hell would the Zelda franchize need to move to other consoles when Nintendo is doing just fine in the hardware department? The day a Legend of Zelda title appears on the Gamecube is when Mike Peters becomes president of the G.L.A.D.D. XP

Fable is a great game, and xbox exclusive...there are a lot, but nothing really can compare to Zelda. If Zelda moved to another system it would be horrible, and just NOT the same.

Actually, depending on which Zelda it was, that might not be TOO bad. But it's not going to happen. Not on any system besides Gamecube anway.
