I know that there has been some talk about this on other threads, but I am making this thread to discuss this as the main issue.

The end of Ocarina of Time is confusing. After Link helps the Sages seal Ganondorf inside the Sacred Realm, Zelda appologizes to Link for all of the trouble she has caused and sends him back to his childhood. When she sends him back, is she erasing/splitting the adult events of the game from the child events, or do the child events happen 7 years later? It seems as if Twilight Princess gives us some new information on this situation. Watch this video from The Hylia. It is the Wii version of the game.

Twilight Princess Spoilers!!!

What I mainly want to show you all is the Sage's dialogue about Ganondorf.

He [Ganondorf] was the leader of a band of thieves who invaded Hyrule in the hopes of establishing dominion over the Sacred Realm.

He was known as a demon thief, an evil-magic wielder renowned for his ruthlessness...

But he was blind...

[Ganondorf is shown chained to a large stone in front of the Twilight Mirror in the mirror's chamber. Six sages, Light, Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Spirit, surround him.]

In all of his fury and might, he was blind to any danger, and thus was he exposed, subdued, and brought to justice.

[The Sages unsheeth a glowing, energy-like sword, then it floats toward Ganondorf, stabbing through him. Ganondorf falls as if he is dead.]

Yet...

[Ganondorf arises. The mark of the Triforce (presumably the Triforce of Power) appears and glows on the back of his right hand. (On the Wii version, which in the video, it is his left hand.) Ganondorf starts to break his chains.]

By some divine prank, he, too, had been blessed with the chosen power of the gods [the Triforce of Courage].

[Ganondorf breaks chains completely. He rushes at the Water Sage and kills him with his fist. He removes the energy sword from his chest, leaving a glowing wound. The remaining Sages look at the Twilight Mirror and then active it. A portal to the Twilight Realm is open, which sucks Ganondorf into that realm. The Sages look at the ground sadly, and the "mask" of the Water Sage is there.]

Now if the adult events of Ocarina of Time happened 7 years later after the child events of that game, then why is the Light Sage only referring to Ganondorf as a mere thief? Why does he say that he invaded Hyrule in the hopes of establishing dominion over the Sacred Realm? If the adult events happen later, then Ganondorf would have successfully entered the Sacred Realm and made it the Dark World with his presence. After all, before sending Link back to his childhood, Zelda tells Link that Ganondorf has been sealed in the Evil Realm. In the Japanese version, she says "Dark World" instead of "Evil Realm". He has entered the Sacred Realm, tainting it and obtaining the Triforce of Power. I would call that dominion over the Realm if you ask me. Twilight Princess implies that he never entered the Realm at all, but he just tried to do that.

Do you think that I am just looking too much into this? Perhaps they are omitting details from the story?

Yeah, I take it as further confirmation of the split (and also that Ganondorf is still free in the past but unable to get past the Door of Time) as well.

TP definately takes place after OoT's child ending, irregardless of a split or not. But then again, of items you recieve in TP we all used by the Adult Link. Unless he brought those from the future with him. That's one question solved for me but I don't know what to quite amke of the TP Sages and why the OoT ones are alluded to but completely disregarded.
