I'm on floor 47 and the stupid door won't open. There were one of those purple lizards, a horde of rats and the stalchildren things that pop out of the ground. Well, I killed them all, and now I'm stuck. I've walked every inch of the floor, thrown bombs everywhere, shot the walls and roof to pieces, hit everything with my sword, smashed every wall with the ball and chain, clawshotted everywhere, tried calling Epona, turned into a wolf and sensed everywhere, dug everywhere, rolled into thins again and again... Nothing. Even the fishing rod doesn't help.
WHY WON'T IT OPEN!!??? I really don't want to have to fight my way down again. Do you need to be at a certain part in the game for it to open? Do I need a certain amount of health remaining? I have some Rare Chu Jelly and Great Fairy's Tears I was saving - should I drink one? Or is it just a glitch? Should I give up now?
Perhaps an enemy somehow got caught up in the area you jump down from... Or stuck halfway through a wall...

Well, it's definately suggesting that you didn't kill an enemy. I want to say that there's one rat left, but I'll take your word for it that you checked every corner like you said.

If you have full health, why not try a spin attack through all of the walls, maybe there's an enemy on the other side of the wall that's stuck, like you said. Perhaps with the spin attack you can kill it.

I don't know what else to tell you. Sorry.

Does the music sound like there are any enemies left?

I actually tried the spin attack through the walls. Then I drank the rare Chu Jelly and spin attacked all the walls. Nothing. So I gave up and started over. It worked okay this time, except for a hairy moment on floor 48, I think (or maybe 49) with the two flying lizard men and one knight - one of the flying lizards got stuck partway through the platform you jump down from. Luckily a clawshot blow knocked him free.

Did everyone else find the 200 silver rupee piece in the cave? It replenishes itself! Infinite money! Not that you really need it.

I think you get infinite money after you collect all the Poe Souls. I've got 15 more to go I think. Just wait until you get to the last floor!

Yes, I've completed it now. And worked out how to defeat groups of knights (Darknuts?) better than when I was against two of them. I thought I was going to get a new bottle along with the Fairy Tears, but she just filled an old one... Are there only four in the game?

11 Poes to go for me.

What's your Darknut strategy? I've collected all 60 Poe Souls now and have collected everything in the game. The only thing I haven't done is every single level in Rollgoal.

Take my time more. Target one, keep moving, and dodge sideways when he swings then attack four times quickly. Repeat, targetting different ones if they become closer. Once the armour's gone use a jump strike then follow immediately with slicing.

I didn't get past the level you need the dominion rod to get by, because I'm going for 100%, and I just finished Snowpeak.

On the levels before that, though, when you walk in, before you jump down off the ledge, the AI will kick in and they'll come and wait for you RIGHT below the ledge. A simple way to kill them then, is to just drop a bomb down there.

I've had a door open before I even jumped off the ledge doing that.

But, the point of that was, does this work for Darknuts too?

You'd need a lot of bombs, Darknuts have a habit of dodging the explosion! Two bomb arrows, aimed at their feet, in rapid succession can help remove their armour, even at that though it doesnt always work...

The other thing I find useful is the Mortal Draw, risky but if you pull it off it is very effective on the armour!!

Does anyone else think the Cave of Ordeals is a bit pointless, by the time you can make your way to the end you've basically finished the game and have no real need for Great Fairy Tears!

The most fun way to fight the Knights is with the Ball and Chain. Until you've chopped off all their armor, resist the urge to use the sword.

Just dont' do it without magic armor or potions to spare.

Other than having the bragging rights to completing one of the hardest things in TP it is all rather pointless, at least in Wind Waker you win a piece of heart. I wish there was something to do after beating the final boss...

The cave of ordeals is extremely pointless... it's insanely boring. and apparently there's another 50 harder levels afterwards? Hell, I didn't even do the first 50 because the Darknuts killed me. Hard, boring, pointless.

...I miss the wind waker's spin attack:(:(

I wouldn't call it hard, exactly... a few levels are a bit hairy. It might get a bit tedious (especially going through it twice in a row) but it's not that bad. And the reward's a lot more interesting than just abother heart piece would be. Or another gold rupee. Can those things ever fit in your wallet?

I forget exactly which floor it is... One with some Darknuts, I think. Use wolf senses and you can dig it up. But getting down that far every time you want 200 rupees is probably slightly tedious.

It was in one of the last 10 floors or so, as I recall. I remember using it to recharge my magic armor for the last fight.

Speaking of; bomblings are highly effective against the large group of darknuts to take off their armor.

Really? I tried bomblings. They blocked them. Bomb-arrows were the only thing that worked, and boy did they ever work!

The 3 Darknuts at the 50th floor weren't that hard. I went at em one at a time...at least I tried.

Anyways, I got it finished.

This might not matter much anymore...but back to the original question, I remember the exact same thing happened to me in the very same room. It's funny how desperate you can get when you realize that the game has glitched and you have to do that all the frick over again. I spent like 20 mins trying to find what I was missing.

Though being honest I'm glad I'm not the only one that happened to, I'm sorry it had to happen.
