Arturo, his old username had been WarriorOfDestiny (I can't recall if it was with or without spaces). I don't know if his account is here, but from what DJ recalls he was pre-hack,and posted once after the hacking, but that post got deleted, and I think the account got deleted in one of Khuffie's periodic prunings.

Yeah, how? That could've been a new member that you banned, and h/she's going nuts trying to figure out what happened.
Because we obviously ban people over hearsay without investigating it first. XD

They all think there's no one else in the room. That goldfish bowl in the corner is WIRED.How'd you figure out it was him?

Trust me, we look into this stuff pretty thoroughly before I press the red bannination button.

Arturo, eh? He's been active in the Zelda Forums for quite some time now.
???
Do you wish me that much to be banned?

As Showsni said, I am not the banned one, I just asked who that guy was.

And what he said is true- we prohibit using this section for insults. It's only for questions and facts about the punishments.

Ok, so if I, for example, got banned and then tried to come back a month or so later and managed to avoid detection long enough for people to sort've get to know me, without letting anyone know it was really me who got banned, but was not spammy/nooby/annoying/whatever got me banned then I would get to stay if I eventually got caught? or would it be IP ban?

What?
Evading bans is cause for yet another ban, no matter how well-behaved you are, because you've broken a rule before you even made your first post. It is my understanding that all bans are IP bans, or else we would be seeing rejoined members and "WTF I am LinkOMG92 and I got banned WHAT DID I DO" constantly.

Once, if I recall, if my entire history here at LA has that ever occurred, and even then it was a secret to almost everyone except for a few key mods and admins involved.Banned members coming back and being allowed to stay has happened before. I remember one guy going and getting himself banned all over again several months later though. So I can't speak to how the admins would handle that now.
Long story short - follow the rules and you've got nothing to worry about.

You... ban... IP's...? *goes white* I suddenly feel a lot less safe... mind you I haven't done anything that would result in a ban, but still; I didn't think you banned the people TOTALLY, just the accounts...
Kazi pretty much explained it all. You ban someone who is annoying, they come back. You ban them, they come back. Ban them, they come back. Hmmm, how can we keep a member from this digital signature joining the forums ever again?

What would be the point in banning an account and not the person?

However, yes...I believe that there has been about..one single person who ever was banned, returned without announcing who they were, they posted regularly without causing any trouble at all, and we generally just ignored them because they were being a useful member of the forums.
IF, however, you get banned and come back to announce yourself as the formerly banned person, or just obviously show up as them without even trying to hide the fact, then you're going down. Again and again, if that's what it takes.

Don't sound so surprised, its common practice on many message boards/websites for administrators to IP ban certain individuals who repeatedly cause trouble; this isn't harsh at all because such punishments are based on severity or nature of the offence; locking out constant rule-breakers is necessary otherwise they'd crap up the place in no time at all.You... ban... Only russian email addresses are banned, though with our new posting restrictions we can remove this.although I'm not entirely sure whether anyone from Russia can get onto LA (long story involving a lot of bots)
And that was me Goose, the saviour of Australians.
