I just had to mention this: I'm currently playing Zelda 2. I'm in the town of Ruto, and I go up to a guy. He says:

LOL, I thought that was a glitch the first time I saw him too! It's not until later in the game when you need to go back and talk to him that you realize he's not.

Maybe they gave him the weird name of Error so that he would stand out and you would remember him when you were told to go back and see him.
