Though she was trying her best to calm down and meditate, Selena's agitation and irritability over the recent developments could not be waned so easily. She let out an almost violent sigh as she waited for Rhiannon and Toan to make their way to her. The silence around her was broken, however, as she heard the fluttering of wings above. Tilting her head up, she spotted a white bird shuffle its feet to and fro on a branch of a nearby tree. A carrier pigeon? Who would be sending a message, and how could they have found her? Selena blinked. Ah, yes, of course! Her negative feelings melted away in an instant as she saw a piece of paper wrapped around the bird's leg. She scrambled to her feet and held out her arm, whistling almost sweetly to get the bird to come down.
It landed on her arm, and she went to work unwrapping the message. Once she had retrieved it, she flung up her arm and sent the bird skyward. It took off, heading back from where it had originally come from. Not surprisingly, it headed to the west. She watched it for a moment, and looked down at the letter. The penmanship was different, but only in an attempt to mask who the writer was. She knew all too well, however, who was behind it. Selena smiled, and turned as she heard Rhiannon finally approach her.
"I just got a letter," she began to say. "A regiment of Ikana Guardsmen have been dispatched and will be landing on the border of the Lost Woods in a week from now. Apparently, there's a meeting soon to take place that we simply must drop in on. In addition, it seems the core territories of the Alliance are in a state of civil war. That means, surely, that with our handiwork tonight, that Sornaiid will follow suit. Our missions were obviously a success."
She pocketed the letter, assuming Rhiannon would guess who the sender was. "We need to rally the others. I'll call back Xeres as soon as we get moving."
She felt the jewel the assassin had given her rest snugly in a different pocket. It would be good to disrupt whatever Xeres and One had gotten up to. The less time they had for their own plotting, the better. Selena marched back towards the safe house, an entirely different plan now racing through her head. It would be a glorious new day.

Rhia could here Selena's exhasperation before she even rounded the corner. Oh dear, she's really not happy Rhia thought. Rhia glanced up as she heard the birds wings flutter, although she couldn't see it, she could tell it carried a letter, an important one. Rhia waited a moment behind the corner in order to give Lena some peace while reading her letter. Being purposefully loud so that Lena could hear her in case she wanted to hide something Rhia rounded the corner.
"I just got a letter," Lena said. "A regiment of Ikana Guardsmen have been dispatched and will be landing on the border of the Lost Woods in a week from now. Rhia sighed in relief.. thank god it was good news. She wasn't sure how much more of Lena's negativity her mind could take. It wasn't so much that Rhia was purposely trying to tune into Lena, it was almost as if Lena's feeling were automatically tuned into Rhia. Rhia guessed it was because she had spent so much time with Lena during her training. Since they had stopped, it had eased down a bit.
"We need to rally the others. I'll call back Xeres as soon as we get moving."
Rhia nodded. She was more than ready to go home. But wait... Xeres? Rhia's head swam... how fast Lena's loyalties switched. First we have to watch over them because of alternative motives, and now we're keeping in touch. Sometimes it would be nice to understand. Rhia just stood while Lena talked and nodded at the appropriate times. They hadn't spoken much recently. This mission had worn on both of them.
Running up ahead of Lena, Rhia burst through the doors of the safehouse.
"We're going home!!"
