as with any powerful ruler, it's the woman behind him. only occasionally do women get a chance to rise and shine without a man in the way. look at Nefertiti, Queen Mary or Catherine the Great.

ooh that's a tough one. I don't want to choose a super popular one, so I think I'd have to choose Franklin D. Roosevelt cuz he worked the system! 4 consecutive terms as president puts him at the top of my list. :P
