What?!? Wii's been susponed until December now? That's alright with me. But one more month...I may just lose my mind trying to be patient for who knows how long now.

Undoubtedly. I'm content enough with the U.S. VC launch though with those Genesis and TG-16 titles. I think I'll be digging into the latter quite a bit considering I've never played that console :linkhappy:. I'm not planning to do that much "rebuying" either... though Gunstar Heroes is a must :linkXD:.

From the U.S. list I'm looking at Bonk's Adventure, Super Star Soldier, Solomon's Key, and Space Harrier II. I'll also likely "rebuy" Gunstar Heroes and Toe Jam & Earl, just out of convenience for multiplayer.

For Australian members...

Quote

Australia, November 1, 2006 - Nintendo today announced the price of additional controllers for the upcoming Wii. A single Wii Remote controller will be priced at AU$69.95, while the separate Nunchuk controller is an additional AU$29.95. For those who aren't mathematically inclined, that's AU$100 for the two. A bundle of the Wii Remote controller with the Wii Play games will also be available, at a recommended price of AU$79.95

Hitting shelves on the 7th of December, the Wii will have a recommended retail price of $399.95. Each pack will contain one console, one wireless Wii remote controller and one Nunchuk controller. To keep your Wii busy, the pack also includes the Wii Sports compilation. This is comprised of five different games on one disk, including baseball, golf and bowling.

Also available at launch will be the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, at a price of AU$99.95. Another 20 titles will be ready for the Australian launch, including the following titles:

- Red Steel
- Rayman: Raving Rabbids
- Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
- Disney Pixar's Cars
- Madden NFL 07
- Need for Speed Carbon
- Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
- Barnyard
- SpongeBob Squarepants
- Creature from Krusty Krab
- Monster Truck 4 x 4: World Circuit
- Open Season
- GT Pro Series
- Far Cry®: Vengeance
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent
- Call of Duty 3
- Marvel™ Ultimate Alliance

A component cable is not included with the Wii console, and will sell separately for AU$49.95.

Source: http://au.wii.ign.co...3/743493p1.html

I traded in my GCN, three games and pre-ordered a Wii, TP and the Wii Play Bundle. I've been told that the Wii will only come bundled with Wii Sports for a limited time. The Wii Play Bundle will only be available for a limited time too. I can't wait! Oh and the Wii Classic Controller will be $29.95 I think. Does anyone know if Nintendo will continue to make GCN style Controllers or will we be able to use the Wii Classic Controller for GCN games as well as Virtual Console games?

WHERE THE HECK IS METROID 3: CORRUPTION ON THAT LIST!? It thought it as supposed to be a launch title, and the only game I was looking forward to more than TP...

EDIT: nvm, I thought this was for North America. :linksweat: I checked a site for the games; it seems MP3: Corruption and TP are coming out as launch titles. Didn't see the SSB:B release date on the site, though.

Which website is stating MP3:C will be a launch title? SSB:B will be released early 2007 I think.

You haven't even played F-Zero? Good stuff. And DKC? Decent platformingness (never deserved as much hype as it originally got, mind).

My question is based around the fact that Japan has LOADS of VC games (including Monshou No Nazo... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH bastards) but we get a mere three or two(!).

Australia's VC launch titles.

Quote

Australia, November 2, 2006 - Antiquated though they are, Nintendo's 20 years worth of gaming is still wholly playable and enjoyable. What is more, with the advent of Wii's Virtual Console system, you can sift through Nintendo's back catalogue of titles for your favourites. But what will be available and how much will you be forking out?

In Australia, 26 Virtual Console games will be available in December, including 16 Nintendo titles and 10 classic Sega Mega Drive games. Specifically, the following games will be available in December:

NES: 500 Wii Points (approximately AU$7.50)
Baseball, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Ice Hockey, Mario Bros., Pinball, Soccer, Solomon's Key (Tecmo), Tennis, The Legend of Zelda, Urban Champion, Wario's Woods.

SNES: 800 Wii Points (approximately AU$12.00)
Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, SimCity.

N64: 1000 Wii Points, (approximately AU$15.00)
Super Mario 64

Sega Mega Drive: 800 Wii Points (approximately AU$12.00)
Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Columns, Gunstar Heroes, Ecco the Dolphin, Space Harrier II, Toe Jam & Earl, Ristar, Dr. Robotonik's Mean Bean Machine.

Stored on the Wii's internal flash memory, these titles can be downloaded using Wii Points. For those familiar with Microsoft's Xbox 360 Points system, this will seem comfortably similar. Wii Points Cards will be available to buy in retail stores and are estimated to retail at around AU$30.00 for 2000 Wii Points.

Interestingly, Nintendo has also mentioned that the cost of these games (in Wii points) may shift in 2007, which indicates that perhaps Nintendo is still gauging the right price point for their Virtual Console releases.

Source: http://au.wii.ign.co...3/743757p1.html

It might be a good idea to get rid of the "For Europe" in the thread title now seeing as we've posted every regions launch titles. Otherwise we might end up with multiple threads.

More VC launch titles for the US.

Quote

US, November 8, 2006 - When it comes to gathering clues for potential Virtual Console titles, Nintendo isn't always the best source to get answers from. The company has its priorities during this holiday season, and for that reason fans have been looking elsewhere for details in regard to what the Wii's unique retro catalog will offer. The ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) has already helped us confirm multiple titles expected to hit Wii early next year, and we've received an updated list just this morning.

As it stood, the following potential 2007 VC games we hit on were as follows:

* Duck Hunt (E for Everyone)
* Hogan's Alley (E for Everyone)
* Kid Icarus (E for Everyone)
* Kirby's Adventure (E for Everyone)
* Pilot Wings (E for Everyone)
* Pro Wrestling (E for Everyone)
* Punch-Out (E for Everyone)
* Wild Gunman (E for Everyone)

New to the list, however, is a slightly more diverse catalog of games:

* Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Kirby's Super Star (Super NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Mario Kart 64 (Nintendo 64; rated E for Everyone)
* Starfox 64 (Nintendo 64; rated E for Everyone)
* Super Metroid (Super NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES; rated E for Everyone)
* The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64; rated E for Everyone)
* Excitebike (NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Ice Climber (NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Dr. Mario (NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Mario Brothers (NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Ice Hockey (NES; rated E for Everyone)
* Soccer (NES; rated E for Everyone)

Granted, a few of the games on this list were assumed, shown, or already announced by Nintendo, but many of the listed titles have just now been confirmed by the ESRB listing. Since all games released must go through the ESRB before getting to consumers, this shows that these games were submitted by Nintendo, obviously intended for Virtual Console support.

It's important to note, however, that just because a game is submitted to the ESRB does not guarantee it a specific time slot. Games like Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Metroid can in fact be held after approval for Nintendo to release at its discretion. If this list is any indication, however, you're most likely looking at a handful of early 2007 Virtual Console games to look forward to.

Speaking of Kirby, I've never played Dream Land 3. I wonder how that one fairs... I also really want to check out Kirby's Dream Course

And while I'm on the thought of Kirby, I wonder if Nintendo will ever think of offering old GB and GBC games for download. Even Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble will work thanks to the Wii-mote :P

You bet I am! XD And Kirby's Dreamland 3! And Starfox 64! And Super Metroid! I'm considering getting a Wii in early or middle 2007 just because of the Virtual Console! Money matters? Bah!

This is seriously making my day. Sure, we all knew big-name titles like this would become available eventually, but I'm pleasantly surprised it's coming so early. Well, maybe. I don't see why they would wait so long to release these games.

I really hope they end up setting up something similar with the DS. You know, making old GB games up for download. I have loads to get my hands on.

*is on a nerd high* Wiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!

EDIT: About DL3, it's a supposed to be a lot like K64 but with partners. I liked K64, so I'm pretty excited about it.

What's Aussie's VC lineup right now?

Without looking at it though, if you see Gunstar Heroes on that list then you must buy it... M-U-S-T.

There are plenty of quality Genesis/Megadrive games. In fact, while the Sonic games are quite good, I don't consider them the best the system has to offer. Maybe the most popular, but certainly far from the best.

Though there's a Genesis Collection releasing soon on the PS2 and PSP. That's one treasure box that people should really look into seeing that it contains some gems like Phantasy Star IV, Shinobi III and Vectorman amongst other good games. It also finally gives me the chance to play Comix Zone :). No Gunstar Heroes but it gives me an excuse to download it on a next generation system :P.

Oops, my bad :P.

Out of that list...
As I said before, Gunstar Heroes is a an ABSOLUTE MUST. Seven Force is still one of the greatest boss battles ever :D.
Ristar, Toe Jam & Earl and Ecco the Dolphin are also all good games worth checking out :)
Altered Beast and Golden Axe are considered classics, but they are ultimately simple arcade type of stuff so they're not as worth it in my eyes. Even ignoring that, they aren't as good as those games I mentioned ;).
I heard Space Harrier II is pretty good as well, though once again that's another arcade title.

I've never been too fond of other Kirby games. Kirby's abilities seem too limited in other Kirby games whereas in Kirby's Super Star he had heaps of abilities at his disposal and nearly every button combination imaginable was used to execute them.

Why does every region have there own list of VC launch titles? Does this mean every region will be limited to the NES, SNES and N64 games that were released in that particular region and no more. The Wii isn't region free is it? Would that apply to the VC as well?
