Apparently, Samurai Jack (winner of a emmy againist Spongebob,Simpsons South Park and Futurama) is going to air on Adult swim Saturday, Sept. 25. Now the question here is: will it be tweaked to fit the Adult swim viewers or shown as is?

It wont be tweaked. This is stupid. I can't believe they're doing this.

This = st00pid

This doesn't even make sense! Why would they put a show, made specifically for kids, on Adult Swim?!

Any word on what AS will be dropping to fit this in?

Well, I guess that means Adult Swim is gonna tweak it up a bit.

But to tweak it means redoing it. And I don't think Williams Street has the rights to the show, nor would the creators of Samurai Jack want to risk losing their younger audience with more adult/teen tweaking. Nor would they want to make two seperate versions, one for CN and one for AS.

This just... doesn't remotely make sense.

Personally I think they should've left samurai jack out of adult swim. It's getting to be where there isn't many good shows on adult swim anymore. I love samurai jack and all, but it seems more of a children's show than something for adults. Granted it can be enjoyed by both. It just doesn't seem appropriate to be aired on adult swim....

Ok....I'm done ranting....gomen ne

d00d!!! Samurai Jack is one of the most theatrical shows I've ever seen. I love the musical scores and the dramatic scenery. I think the only show to Drumpf Samurai Jack in those categories would be Clone Wars. That was a crazy good cartoon. It really deserved that Emmy, although...it beating Spongebob seems questionable.

I think Samurai Jack should completely replace The Brak Show on Sunday, cos The Brak Show just isn't funny at all, and then they should move Aqua Teen Hunger Force back to weekdays to empty out the slot for Samurai Jack.

pshaw. CHILDREN'S SHOW? I have never seen a child that ever showed an interest in Samurai Jack. You really appreciate it when you can look at it as an exceptional, artistic cartoon.

I'm done. Sorry for going contro on your lilly butts.

I Love Jack too devilpaladin, and I hope to god they don't change it for AS. It would not seem right! I think it deserves to be there though, as it is, as DP said, theatrical and cinematic with its music, angels and style.

But i still love the Brak show!

How could they tweak it, anyway? Usually they dont edit things for content by adding gratuitous violence and the like.

I like Samurai Jack. It amuses me greatly.

I've got the movie, and if you put it into your DVD-ROM, it gives you backgrounds and desktop icon sets. :P

I like Samurai Jack, but it's not AS material. It would be fine if it came on before AS, but as long as there are new episodes, I won't complain one way or the other.

I never said I didn't like it....I simply stated that I didn't think it belonged on AS. I like the idea of putting flcl back on AS though. :D I never really got to see a lot of it. My parents alway have control of the remote...I rarely watch tv anymore....

So....everyone says it, but why is it not AS material?

And why hasn't The Brak Show been cancelled yet?!

Why? Because it just hasn't, that's why. It was cancelled at one point, the fact is- people still watch it. This is all about money.

But putting SJ on AS is dumb. It's a kid's show.

Let me be the first to say I do not like Samurai Jack. I think it is a dumb cartoon for kids. It has no place on Adult Swim among other cartoons that are more or less adult oriented.

DP: The Brak Show WAS cancelled. AS is just airing reruns because they got screamed at by all the crazy Brak fans. And believe me, I was on the AS forums the day after Brak announced the cancellation. They WERE screaming. ;)

I wasn't on the forums when brak got cancelled. but I did have to hear some screaming from a lot of people. I mean actual screaming sitting right next to me....it bit the big one....lol But I do agree that they need to get rid of the brak show. It seems kind of stupid. I personally lliked cartoon planet better than the brake show. I think they should bring that back.

How can you call it a kids' show, honestly?

I forget the episode number, but there was one particular show that could've been so very gory if they had tweaked a couple things.

Jack fights a giant herd of Aku's minions. They're all robots, and there must be a good 200-300. In Kill Bill-esque style, Jack slices them to pieces in a meticulous kunf-fu movie fashion, 2-3-4 at a time, and their oil shoots out like a geyser from the severed parts and ...chasis?, covering him more and more completely until the end, where he's just all soaked and dirty and sexy in robot juices.

If you somehow had humans and blood in there instead of robots and their juices, it wouldn't be more adult-oriented, it wouldn't be shown on Cable TV!

The backstory involves entire towns being slaughtered. His parents are killed defending him. Not exactly oriented towards impressionable children. Jack dishes out death by the bucketful in most episodes, and as an added bonus, sometimes strips down to his jock strap.

Pfah, I say to you naysayers. adult swim has some really mediocre shows, and I think Samurai Jack would add something decent back into the programming.

Yeah. Thats a shitty conclusion, but I really have to get to my bus. Shit.

Samurai Jack definitely isn't a kid's show, as most kids wouldn't be able to appreciate it. It's mature in the sense that it's artistic and theatrical, not in the sense of including swearing and sex and such. Adult Swim viewers who only care about swearing and potty humor will be turned off, but mature adults should like it. It's people like that that the show is meant for.

People, the Staurday stuff is meant for a childerens audience anyway. Have you noticed half the stuff is recyled from toonami?
AS will only air good stuff on non-school nights. So don't worrie to much.

waitwaitwait...

Saturday? Kids shows?

Let me make a list:
Venture Brothers - spoof of Johnny Quest. Made for 30 year old kids.
Futurama - Simpsons for the workingman.
Inuyasha - The FF7 of Anime. Big swords and not nearly enough hooking up.
Wolf's Rain - Serious, composed show that kids can't get into. (Hell...I couldn't get into it at first.)
Cowboy Bebop - Maturely humorous.
Trigun - Anime with guns and blood.

Well..uhm...yeah. Kid friendly.

I don't think ANYTHING adult swim airs is meant for a children's audience, cos its on at 11 EST. A time not meant for children in the first place.
