Well...so we've only got one (possibly two) Jewish member(s). But happy Rosh HaShanah anyway. I'll let Alak explain the significance of this.

It's the New Year. One of four, actually: The year cycle starts now, but the months begin at Passover, and there are two others- one of which is the growing cycle- which I've never been able to remember or care about.
OK, so it's New Year's, the second most holy day on the calander, and the first of ten days in which the Book of Life is opened, and god decides who's going to live or die or be poor or rich and all those things for the coming year.

Also, I won't be online from sundown today 'til the same time tomorrow.

Didn't know the part about how you've got to observe a Shabbat style thing...oh well. Happy Rosh HaShanah dude!

Eh, it's confusing. We use a lunar calander, most everybody else is solar. Nothing to do about it, though.

This year's Rosh HaShanah is going to be the anniversary of the universe's creation 5765 years ago...according to Rabbinical writers, anyway. It's pretty important, because it's one of the four High Holidays on the Jewish calendar.

It was in my planner too. But I know about it because I'm into the whole religion thing. Though I'm starting to wonder why I know about all these non-Christian holidays. Oh well.

Aww...I wish 25% of my school were Jewish. Then I could get the day off too.

Better yet, I wish 25% of my school was male. You know what the other 75% would be?

OK, Arunma- you're going to go twenty minutes without thinking about Jesus or Breats. It's part of a rehab program for obsessive people that I just invented.. GO!
